I’d love to wear hats but am not sure how to do it properly without messing up my hair. Can you tell me how? – Hani, 19 PDF Print E-mail

Hats are a lovely accessory although it still hasn’t caught on here, which is surprising, seeing the weather we have.

First things first. Pick a hat that suits your face and personality. To avoid hat hair, you should wear your hair down or tied up in a ponytail and make sure the roots are dry. Use a moisturising styling product on the ends to reduce static and frizz. Keep a travel-size can of hairspray handy in case you need a quick fix. (But if you have a bad hair day, a hat could be a lifesaver!)

Some hats are meant to be worn differently. Sun hats, for example, should be tilted back while fedoras are pulled down over the eyebrows. Berets are worn slightly to the side. Whatever it is, rely on your gut instinct. If a hat doesn’t look right, try it at different angles. Plus, this should all be about fun and fashion!

What say you?

Do you wear hats? Where do you recommend getting nice, cool ones?
